In between large-scale industrial buildings, two light brick structures are elevated on a tar platform. Formerly used to store charcoal during Zurich’s industrial era, the structures currently serve as storage space, while the outside space became parking spots.
Indoor and outdoor workspace as well as technical equipment are made available for members to easily upcycle their used furniture or objects. We added a small storage space and covered pathway, creating a circular path around the central outdoor space.

To create the new structures, we reused the bricks and tiles that were removed from the existing warehouses to create windows and openings. We also used the metal from the former fence surrounding the area and railway tracks as construction material for the storage space.
