the aim of the semester was to design a sporting arena with corresponding facilities on The 75’000 m2 shooting range field of Albisgutli Friesenberg, We chose to design a new a new park for the community, with outdoor olympic tracks.
located at the edge of the city, the Albisgütli park becomes part of the forest. we planted the outline of the different clearings to create hidden rooms. by adding large axes to the topography, circulation is facilitated through the topography. By adding built structures along the way, we offer visitors the possibility to contemplate each room in any weather. with main boulevards and secondary axes, the design of the Parc as well as the typology of the structures was inspired by the 18th century baroque garden.
the villa in the parterre
In a Baroque Garden, the Parterre connects the villa to the garden, and the most richly decorated with its vegetation and flower terraces. On our site, the Parterre directly connects the forest to the botanical garden. With a pathway crossing under it, the existing shooting  structure is positioned as a villa in the landscape.
the rotunda in the salon
A salon is made for gathering, amusement, conversation and interaction.  In the parc, the salon is a small room meant for leisure activities. with a rotunda at its the center, a playground, as well as a chess and petanque field can be enjoyed.
the loggia in the Champs
in the champs, three different olympic disciplines can be practiced. the loggia crosses the first room, holding different proximities and perspectives to the running track. in the last room, we transformed the existing police shooting range into sand tracks for jumping and throwing. The rooms are enclosed by earth walls, taken over from the existing topography.
